a decent cappuccino on a wobbly bench in the early dusk around 3.30 PM of a wet-ish and warm December day outside a very small coffee shop with room for only one table and two small chairs while we talk about the winters in our past that were really tough and when you couldn’t leave the house\/village\/town because of snow and the road departments ran out of salt and salt didn’t work anyway because it was too cold and the music from the inside comes out to us and it’s Siouxsie & the Banshees Tinderbox and the fish monger from next door says that we shouldn’t buy fish these days \u201dThey’re too expensive. Hardly anyone has landed anything because of the storms and what makes it to the shop is far too expensive\u201d, and the young woman beside me says that she doesn’t like fish anyway and I have sweetened my drink with lots of sugar and gulp down a couple of painkillers and we talk about how to save dry tobacco with slices of potato or apple and agree that potatoes are best because they don’t give off taste and the guy on the other side tells me that he once lived in a place where he was snowed in for a month and the snow drifted to make piles four bicycles tall and I forget to ask how he measured that<\/p>\n
